Our
Story
One shared obsession
Four best friends. One shared obsession with music. senses began as a childhood bond—Brian, Rónán, Ian, and Kevin first met in primary school, cousins Rónán and Ian grew up listening to and playing Irish music, until they discovered noisy guitars. Brian's dad was a musician that would gig around the midlands, then Brian would lend CDs and make mixtapes of indie and shoegaze bands that set the tone. Kevin started playing guitar in school and then would hangout at the same clubs and indie nights.
Drawn together by their love of music, underground sounds and the thrill of discovery. That connection never wavered. It became the heartbeat of a band that blends shoegaze, alternative, and indie rock into something expansive, cinematic, and deeply personal.

From sweaty club gigs to festival stages
Praised as “upbeat, anthemic, and utterly optimistic” (RGM) and “a wonderful mesh of powerful and pretty” (Louder than War), senses have spent years carving out their place in the UK music scene. From sweaty club gigs to festival stages, their journey has been one of relentless passion and evolution.

Triumphant debut
Their debut LP, Little Pictures Without Sound (42s Records), was a triumphant first statement—an album bursting with widescreen anthems, introspective beauty, and a storytelling depth that captured life’s fleeting moments. A sold-out launch party and select live dates proved just how much their music resonated.

Absence makes the band grow stronger!
Now based between Coventry, London, and Hamburg, senses found new ways to write, experiment, and push their sound forward. No longer been stuck in sweaty, rat infested practice rooms (the last part sadly isn't made up!) distance has only fuelled their creativity - absence makes the band grow stronger!

Gardening
New tracks have been recorded with Gavin Monaghan, Liam Radburn, Joe Jackson, and Louise Russell at Magic Garden Studio and mastered by Graeme Lynch, this is their most fearless work yet. With what started off as a live EP of tracks from theirfirst album, the band started jamming on new tracks and were challenged to write different things by Gavin.

With “golden soporific tones” (Steve Lamacq) and “stadium-ready indie-rock with plenty of guitar hooks and soaring elements” (It’s All Indie), senses have received airplay and support from: BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, BBC CWR, Radio X, XS Manchester, Amazing Radio, Channel 4, E4 and many others.
senses continue to push forward. At its core, this is still the same band—four best friends using music as a vehicle for self-expression and connection, just as they always have - swapping records, going to gigs, sending voice note ideas for songs, writing songs randomly in kitchens.
